I only have to wait till tomorrow! Albeit, I’m only going on angeles crest, not off-road. Picture from an off-road day for reference!

I just had a thought: Although the Board of Directors has barred me from motorcycle ownership, I wonder if dirt bike ownership is legally the same thing.
Perhaps I should tempt the Fates?

Dirt bikes are a totally different ball game so I think you should definitely try. Just don’t tell her you are getting a dirt bike with turn signals and she’ll never know any better.

My buddy is trying to get me to buy his XR400 so he can replace it. When I mentioned it to my wife, she gave me a very confused look and asked “What would we do with a dirt bike? I don’t get it.”

I haven’t even bought the bike yet. That is why Sunday. The bike is 140 miles away. A buddy is driving me there then I’m riding the bike back. Should be an interesting trip, the bike has a 37" seat height and I have a 26" inseam.
The suspension will be internally lowered shortly after getting the bike This will bring the seat down in the neighbourhood of 32-33" which is totally manageable .
My plans is to turn it into a DTX style street legal flat tracker.
Not quite this low but you get the idea. I don’t do any crazy off roading but I do tons of bombing on flat dirt roads. This will be the perfect setup for the type of riding I’m into.

I told her I was thinking about a motorcycle last year: “A motorcycle would go great with your 4x4 and your new house and your new girlfriend and your new life somewhere else...”
I think she was trying to tell me she didn’t like the idea. If I bought a non-street-legal bike (and trailer) to accompany the 4Runner, I guess I’d better be ready to sleep in the 4Runner!

That’s awesome!! Looks like a great bike! I’ve been thinking about changing the WR to a more supermoto setup, since I hardly ride off-road.

I really need to order parts so I can get mine on the dirt. Been spending too much money on car/truck parts it’s had to sit on the back burner for a while. Won’t need much, rubber strip for the rear rim, carb jet, & chains and sprockets. I just wanna ride!
Side note: No I didn’t intentionally create a Broncos theme bike, the plastic was garbage and after sanding for hours I said screw it and plastidiped them blue, because I like blue. The exhaust was also rusty so I painted it silver because silver and blue looks nice, and I had high temp silver paint already. I might pull it apart and have the frame powder coated silver at some point, but first I gotta ride!
